Paul Stein, CFP^®
President and Founder

Paul, a Certified Financial Planner^TM certificant, is currently a Senior Advisor with AdvisorNet Financial, a Registered Investment Advisory Firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He specializes in retirement planning, portfolio design, and estate planning. Paul is also a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with Financial Network, which allows him to manage assets.

Paul has served on the board of directors of the Minnesota Society of The Institute of Certified Financial Planners, as well as the advisory board of AdvisorNet Financial, one of the largest, independent financial planning firms in the upper Midwest. Paul is currently a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Investment Management Consultants Association, and the National Committee on Planned Giving.

In addition to his personal planning practice, Paul has spoken to many organizations and institutions on retirement and estate planning topics and related tax and investment strategies. Paul has been a featured guest on radio, quoted in major newspaper columns and has been named in Who’s Who in American Finance and Industry.

Paul attended Northwestern College in St. Paul and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in math at the University of Minnesota. He has done additional graduate work in estate planning through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.

Paul and his wife, Jann, reside north of the Twin Cities with their two children, Michelle and Andrew.

Joseph P. Nelson, CFP^®
Financial Planner

Joe works in close partnership with Paul on all aspects of each client's situation.  This includes research, design and implementation of strategies. Joe is a Certified Financial Planner^TM certificant who graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul with a Bachelor of Arts in business with an emphasis in finance. He began his financial planning career in 2003 working with Paul. Joe is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Joe lives in Ramsey with his wife, Deanna, and their daughter Ava. He enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

Susan Bristol
Administrative Manager

Prior to joining Paul in 1999, Susan had many years of experience in administrative and executive assistant roles.  Her main responsibility is to oversee the processing of all paperwork, which includes opening and maintaining accounts, transfers and compiling reports.

Susan and her husband, David, live in Columbia Heights and have three sons and a daughter, two daughters-in-law, and two very cute grandchildren.

Susan has a Bachelor of Science degree in music and Christian education from Crossroads College in Rochester, MN.

Susie Morrow
Client Services Manager

Susie’s primary responsibility is maintaining prompt and effective communication with our clients, which includes scheduling and following up. Before joining Advanced Retirement Resources in 2006, Susie was the Administrative Assistant to the President of Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN.

She and her husband, Steve, live in Wyoming, MN and have three grown sons. Born and raised in Indiana, Susie is an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.

Jann Stein
Accounting and Records

Jann's role is to maintain the accounting and record keeping for Advanced Retirement Resources. Additionally, Jann is a professional harpist, who performs regularly for weddings and various other events. She also teaches harp to a limited number of students. Paul and Jann have been married 24 years and have two children. Michelle is a freshman at the University of Minnesota and Drew is a junior at Centennial High School.

Jann graduated from Northwestern College in church music and Christian education, and the University of Minnesota in music education.
